Eltie keeps your dog's log so the people you invite can see it. Nobody else can. No ads, no tracking, and we never sell anything. You can delete it all from inside the app.
What Eltie stores
Your dog's log: meals, walks, meds, notes, pain checks and episodes, each with who logged it and when. Your dog's profile: name, breed, sex, birth year, photo, daily routine, meds (with doses, times and what each one is for), what you're keeping an eye on and any history notes you add about it, and an emergency vet phone number if you enter one. Any episode videos you add. For each person, the name they chose to show in the log.
Who can see it
Only the people in your shared log. Anyone you give your invite code to can join, and they see the whole log, including past days, so share the code only with people you trust. We can technically reach the data on the server to keep the service running, and we only do that to fix problems you ask us about.
Where it's kept
On Supabase, a database service, in the United States (Oregon). Your phone keeps its own copy so the app works offline. Like most online services, Supabase keeps short-lived technical logs of requests to the server (which can include your IP address); they expire on their own.
Your account
You sign in with Apple. Eltie asks Apple only for your name, never your email, and keeps just your first name. We store Apple's account ID so you can get your log back on a new phone.
Notifications
If you turn them on, we store your phone's notification address and your settings (including your time zone, for quiet hours) so you hear when someone else logs. Notifications are delivered by Apple.
Location and weather
Only if you allow it, in Settings or when an episode starts. Eltie sends your location to Open-Meteo, a weather service, to look up the weather, and saves the weather with the episode. The location itself stays on your phone.
Voice
If you log by talking, Apple's speech recognition turns it into text, on your iPhone when it supports that. Eltie keeps the text, never the audio.
What Eltie doesn't do
No ads. No analytics or tracking inside the app. No selling or sharing your data. No AI in the App Store version. (Eltie Labs, a test version we share with a few people through TestFlight, also sends parts of the log, such as lines it can't sort and episode notes it reviews, through our server to OpenAI to be read. The App Store version never does.)
Deleting your data
In the app: Settings, then Delete my data. Your account is deleted and your Sign in with Apple link is removed. If others share your log, you leave it and it stays for them, including the lines you logged, under the name you used. If you're the last person, the whole log goes too, with its photos and videos. You can also email us and we'll do it for you.
Children
Eltie isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top.
