Eltie

A shared log for your dog.

Fed, walked, meds, teeth. Everyone who looks after your dog sees the same day, and gets a nudge when something's late.

An animation of the Eltie app: lines typed into the log get sorted and sent to the other phone, the daily checklist ticks off, an episode is timed, and the dose ring fills on the Lock Screen.

How it works

Three things happen every time someone logs. Scroll through them.

  1. Log it your way

Tap Fed or Walk, pick the dose from the pill button, say it out loud, or just type what happened. "Breakfast at 7am, ate it all" becomes a meal at 7:00.

  2. Everyone sees it

The line shows up on every phone in the log, with who logged it. The other phone gets a quiet heads-up, so nobody feeds the dog twice.

  3. Nothing gets missed

Your dog's routine becomes a daily checklist. If the evening dose or the teeth aren't logged by the time you set, Eltie nudges you.

Everything in it

Built for one dog first, then for any dog. Here's what you get.

Share the day

One log for everyone who looks after your dog: you, a partner, a roommate, the dog sitter.

  • Invite with a code

Share a six-character code. They join your dog's log and see all of it, past days included.

  • A daily checklist

Meals, walks, meds, teeth. It ticks itself off as people log.

  • Meds on a schedule

Set the dose and the times. Eltie shows what's due and what's done.

  • Nudges when something's late

If dinner or a dose isn't logged by the time you set, you get a reminder. Quiet hours keep the night quiet.

Log in a second

Most logging happens with a leash in one hand. Eltie meets you wherever your thumb already is.

  • Tap, type, or talk

Big buttons for the usual things. For anything else, type or say it in plain words.

  • Home Screen widgets

See today's checklist and log a meal or a walk without opening the app.

  • Lock Screen dose ring

Doses given today, right above the clock. Tap it to log the next one.

  • Control Center and the Action Button

Start a timer from anywhere, without unlocking.

Keep an eye on something

Coughing fits, seizures, panic, limping, itching, or something else. Tell Eltie what you're watching and it gives you the tools for it.

  • A timer on the Lock Screen

Start it when it begins. Tap what you see while it runs. Stop it when it's over.

  • Counts and patterns

How often, how long, and what time of day. Eltie counts. It doesn't diagnose.

  • Pain checks and notes

Write "pain 2, chewing on one side" and it's kept with the day.

  • A report for your vet

The last few weeks on one page: episodes, meds, pain, and notes.

Elton's Dogs

Hi, we're Quest & Quinn.

This is Elton, our ten-year-old Westie, in his hot dog costume. He loves sticking his head out the window on mountain drives, is stubborn about which direction we walk, and loves any kind of food, hot dogs included.

A couple of years ago, Elton started having panic-like episodes. We've brought them up with his vet a number of times, but when the appointment comes, it's hard to explain when they happen, how long they last, and what might be causing them. We've never landed on a good answer.

So we built a way to log them, to understand Elton better and figure out what might be setting them off.

The surprise was what we opened every day. It wasn't the episode timer. It was the simple stuff:

  • Did he eat breakfast?
  • Has he been out?
  • Did someone give him his evening pill?

Two people, one dog, and a lot of โ€œdid you already feed him?โ€ texts.

So Eltie became a shared log first, named after the dog who started it. It's free, there are no ads, and we use it every day.

Quest & Quinn, for Elton.

  • Elton on the grass dressed as a hot dog, with ketchup and mustard
  • Elton looking out a car window at mountains
  • Elton tucked between two couch cushions

One log. Everyone on the same page.
