Common questions
How do I get started?
Launch the app and grant Screen Time access when prompted. Complete the short onboarding: pick a lockdown preset and choose the essential apps to keep always-on. That's it; you're bricked by default.
Why does BrickedUp need Screen Time access?
BrickedUp uses Apple's Family Controls framework to shield apps on your own device, for yourself. It is not a parental-control or device-management tool. iOS only ever hands the app opaque tokens. It can't read which apps you picked or how you use them.
What is Smart Time?
A daily budget of minutes you spend to 'go Live' and lift the shield. When it runs out, the phone bricks again. Brick a session early and the unused minutes come right back to your balance.
How do Savings work?
Whatever Smart Time you don't spend rolls into Savings, uncapped. It just stacks. Hit a milestone and you earn a free live hour on the house.
What are hard, soft, and open hours?
Open lifts the shield entirely. Soft stays bricked but lets you spend banked time if you need it. Hard is bricked with spending off. Anything outside a window you've declared is Hard by default.
Is my data safe?
There's nothing to leak. BrickedUp has no account, no servers, and no network connection. Your schedule, budget, and savings live only on your device.
