Ignite Your Year

Read time: 4 minutes

Welcome to the first edition of The Quest of Life, a weekly newsletter designed to help you unlock your dream life through actionable insights on health, mindset, and personal growth.

As we kick off 2025, let’s focus on igniting your year with clarity and purpose.

Today at a Glance

Here’s what you’ll get in this issue:

  • How to unfuck your life, clear mental clutter, and start the new year off with a fresh mind.

  • Why fewer goals can lead to greater success.

  • How to choose a life-changing challenge (your Masogi).

Let’s dive in!

1. Unfuck Your Life

Clear the mental clutter by listing and taking action on the things you’ve been avoiding.

We all want to start the new year with fresh goals, intentions, and habits. But let’s be real: you’ve got a backlog of unfinished projects, lingering tasks, and a lot of "shit I forgot to do that again…." How are you going to crush 2025 when you haven’t even paid that parking ticket from 2023?

Take 30 minutes to write down everything that's been weighing on your mind, from small to big.

Why?

Think of your brain like your phone. When it’s overloaded with photos, videos, and 43 apps running in the background, it slows down. Unfinished tasks are mental clutter, draining energy and bandwidth. Clear that shit out, and you’ll have space for new ideas and focus.

Free yourself by creating a mission to tackle those items. Start small, build momentum, and feel lighter and more accomplished. For me, it was finally registering my car—bought in June, registered in December. But damn, did that feel good.

Pro Tip: Create two lists—one for quick wins (tasks under 10 minutes) and one for longer commitments. Knock out a quick win whenever you’ve got a spare moment.

2. Don’t Overload Your Goals

Less is more when it comes to New Year’s resolutions.

The New Year trap? Trying to do it all—new habits, routines, hobbies. But piling it on leads to burnout. Real progress comes from simplifying. Ask yourself: What unnecessary commitments, habits, or activities can you drop?

Cutting out Friday night outings gave me weekends to rest, reflect, and focus on long-neglected goals. It also gave me a proper break from my workweek. Burnout hit me hard last year because I never stopped moving. Once I embraced doing nothing, I felt more energized, made better progress, and, most importantly, felt better about myself.

Simplify your life. Focus on 2-3 meaningful goals that matter most.

Actionable Tip: For each goal, ask: Why is this important? How will it improve my life? If the answers aren’t clear, it’s probably not worth your energy.

3. Choose a Masogi

Commit to one bold, challenging goal that pushes your limits.

We’ve all got bucket list items we never tackle. Stop waiting. Make this year different by centering your goals around a Masogi.

Masogi is a once-a-year challenge that forces you to confront discomfort and uncertainty. It’s ambitious but not impossible—something with a 50-50 chance of success.

For me, it’s competing in a men’s physique competition. It’s about discipline, growth, and facing fears. Your Masogi could be climbing a mountain, running a marathon, or mastering a daunting skill. Whatever it is, make it count.

Actionable Tip: Choose your Masogi by January 15th. Build your year’s goals around it to stay focused and driven.

Celebrating a Win

On a personal note, I’m excited to share that my photoshoot with Vitality just dropped! Seeing myself featured in their new collection and on their website is an incredible reminder of how far I’ve come. Wins like this fuel the journey—let’s celebrate ours together this year.

Final Thought: Your Year, Your Quest

2025 is your canvas. Let’s paint it with bold strokes of intention, focus, and simplicity. Remember: growth comes from action, not just ideas.

What’s your Masogi for the year? Reply to this email—I’d love to hear about it!

Stay curious, stay bold, and keep chasing the dream.
